Growing up, my grandmother would make an Italian ricotta cheesecake that was so wonderful, so special – that we would talk about it for days after the meal. This delicious Impastata Ricotta Cheesecake comes from my grandmother’s traditional homemade recipe, and I’m sure it will become a favorite of your family’s for years to come!
Why is this cheesecake so fantastic? The secret lies in the cheese.
We start with delicious, smooth cream cheese, then add ricotta cheese. We don’t use just any ricotta. We use Impastata Ricotta, which is considered ‘The Cadillac’ of ricottas. Impastata Ricotta (which translates as mixed ricotta) is a premium type of cheese that originated in Italy. It is made from fresh whole milk the artisanal way. This fresh, delicate cheese has a light flavor and a unique, velvety texture that is like soft sweet butter.
It’s all surrounded by our authentic graham cracker crust, with hints of molasses, honey and vanilla.
Top this with fresh strawberries, raspberries, peaches or apricots, and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and you have something that can only be described as “magnifico”! Enjoy this cheesecake with a cup of cappuccino or espresso for an incredibly satisfying dessert for the entire family.
One thing is certain: Once you put this cheesecake on the table, it will be gone before you know it.
Buon Appetito!
